Payments in a salon -- where beauticians and hairdressers are considered their own contractors, paying for a spot to do their business -- run a lot like payments in a restaurant. It is the sale of the individual emploeyee, and they must take care of their own payments and tips. With such close similarities between the two industries, it is a no-brainer that a restaurant POS system for payments would work equally well in a salon environment.
